What Can Nutrition Do For You?
“The only work that will ultimately bring any good to any of us is the work of contributing to the healing of the world.” ~ Marianne Williamson
Change is in the air. Wouldn’t you agree? You only need stop and take a look around you to see the changes in the trees, the clouds, the flowers, the fields.
But, have you stopped to take a good look at yourself? When you look in the mirror do you see the see the same person you feel on the inside looking back? How about in a recent photo? Most of us, if answering honestly, are pretty sure the answer is a hard NO. And this is only our outward expression of change. What are you feeling internally? Fatigue, pain, digestive distress, difficulty sleeping?
Our bodies are constantly changing, breaking down and rebuilding. We are not the twenty or thirty somethings we once were. You know this. You see it in the mirror, how you feel in your bones, in your energy level. But are you proactive? Do you think about giving your body what it needs to constantly rebuild? Have you ever given it a thought? Do you ever think about what happens to the food you eat once it has crossed your lips into your body? Would you want to know if your body is unable to use the nutrients from the food you are eating to maintain its health?
Nutrition is the process by which we digest, absorb and assimilate food for growth, liberation of energy and tissue replacement and then excrete waste. It’s something most take for granted that has the biggest impact on how well we maintain not only our physical health and vitality, but our emotional and cognitive functions as well. The proper use of food is the key to regaining your health at any age and there is a simple test to find out how well your body is performing this extremely important task.
