Tips for Red Light Therapy Success

Red light therapy for body contouring uses LED lights to shape, tone and slim down clients. This therapy can be effective in targeting problem areas such as the waist, thighs, and upper arms. Studies show red light therapy sessions can also increase elastin and collagen in the body, giving skin a younger, firmer texture and appearance.

Red light therapy for fat loss is a great substitute for liposuction. It is a noninvasive procedure that stimulates fat cells to release into the bloodstream. With an active lifestyle and healthy diet, this stored fat can be burnt and used for energy. 

To prepare and see best results from your red light therapy sessions follow these eight steps:

1. Set Realistic Expectations 

About 80 percent of clients who receive red light therapy experience visible changes immediately! Even so, a minimum of 10 to 12 sessions is recommended for significant and long lasting results. 10 percent of clients will see a response to red light therapy slower than others, and will need more therapy sessions for results. Another 10 percent may see little results from the red light therapy process. 

2. Stay on Track with Appointments

Make sure to attend all of your scheduled appointments. If you cannot make an appointment, please schedule a make-up session for the same week. Consistency is key to obtain lasting and notable results.

3. Schedule Smart Appointments

We recommend clients come every other day for red light therapy sessions. This gives the body time off to process the fat that has been released from red light therapy sessions. You should schedule at least two sessions a week, but three is our recommendation for great results. 

4. Water

Make sure to drink plenty of water before each treatment, and continue to do so throughout the day. This will flush fat and toxins from your system, aiding the red light therapy process. You should aim to drink at least half of your body weight, in ounces, each day.

5. Session Window

Refrain from eating one hour before, and one hour after, each red light therapy session. Your body should process fat during this period for optimal fat loss. If you consume food too close to the release of stored fat cells from a red light session, your body may burn it for energy instead of fat. 

6. No Physical Therapy or Exercise Before Sessions

Please do not attempt any physical therapy or exercise before your red light session. Instead, we highly encourage exercise afterwards for at least ten minutes. This will stimulate your lymphatic system, as well as increase blood circulation. This is a critical step for fat loss.

7. Lower Carbohydrate Intake

It is recommended clients reduce their overall caloric intake, while limiting their intake of starchy carbohydrates, simple sugars, and soft drinks. A balanced diet will aid the body in burning fat for optimal results. We offer programming to help meet nutritional goals!

8. No Alcohol 

For optimal fat loss results from red light therapy, it is best to completely eliminate the consumption of alcohol in your diet. We recommend cutting alcohol for the period in which you are receiving red light therapy sessions.
